PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography, much like most visual representations, underwent a major artistic transformation in the twentieth century. For much of its early life, the camera was seen as a tool for documentation and records.

Capturing moments of life only truly began with the mass-production of cameras and amateur photography. Alfred Stieglitz, August Sander and Henri Cartier-Bresson were the first to famously capture the human condition. For the first time in history, the spontaneity of modern life was captured.

he photographic art form, although relatively young, still seemingly captures and critiques the world around us. At K-11 Gallery, we actively seek contemporary photographers who are in search of those moments or whose photographs transform perceptions and see the world through a new lens.
